Below are just some of our "Fun" raising tips:
Imagine Pink Wristbands

Imagine Pink Wristbands - Everybody is wearing wristbands these days!  Who will you choose to support?  Help raise awareness and get the word out by wearing the Komen for the Cure Imagine Pink Wristbands.  For just $50 you can purchase 100 wristbands and then ask for suggested donations of any amount to raise funds for your Team!  To purchase the wristbands please call our office in advanced at 239-498-0016.

You can pick the cut outs up at our Affiliate Office.  Your friends, business associates, and neighbors can then donate money and write in the name of someone they want to remember or honor; or they may also acknowledge themselves as the donor. 





 

The Power of 10The Power of Ten - Ask 10 people for $10 to help find the cure for breast cancer. 
If each of the expected 10,000 Race participants asks 10 people to donate $10, each Race participant will raise $100.
That’s $1,000,000 to fund programs and research! Can you raise $100.00?


 

 

 Got Gold

Host a Got Gold Party - Book a gold party and not only will you earn 10% of the total payout, they'll donate an additional 10% to the Komen Southwest Florida Affiliate.  Just call 1-888-711-2008 or www.gotgoldevents.com.

 

 

Give something up that you treat yourself to often. Think about how much you spend on items such as soft drinks, coffee, eating out, shopping, etc. Donate the money saved in one month.

Set a goal to ask at least one person a day for one month to make a donation. You’ll be surprised at how it adds up.

Get your school involved. Hold a Silent Auction for students. Prizes can include items solicited from local eateries, movie theaters, and no-homework passes.

Community Pot-luck is a great way to meet new people in your neighborhood and spread the cause. Book a date at your clubhouse, have everyone contribute a dish and set up paid activities like a bake sale, flea market tables, games, etc. with proceeds going to the Race through your Team.

Book sale for book worms! Ask friends and local booksellers for contributions of books and set up a book store atmosphere with beach chairs and refreshments.

Enlist some volunteers and put out flyers in your community for baby-sitting, pet-sitting or house-sitting with donations going to Komen.

Theme party madness! Host a theme party, Hawaiian, Pirate or ‘50’s party, and charge a small admission fee.

Holiday wrapping- have a local business donate supplies and set up a table at your local church or school to wrap holiday gifts. Your may want to get some creative people to design colorful holiday paper.

Sell your experience, talent, or skill you possess, swimming lessons, knitting and crocheting lessons, dog training, resume writing and revising, etc. and donate the earnings.

At the car wash! Rally a local scout troop or group of students to provide the labor and some local businesses to donate the supplies you need. 

Spare change jar placed near the cash register at a local business or your desk at work is an easy way to generate donations.

Double your money by finding companies or restaurants that have matching gift programs.

REMEMBER:

  • Use the tools on the Web site to collect donations and let people know how much you raised and how close you are to your goal.
  • Start early – the sooner you get going, the quicker you will reach your goal.
  • Any dollar amount you raise makes a difference. Five dollars from 20 people is $100!
  • Collect your donations up front – it saves you having to ask a second time.
  • Anyone is a potential donor. Start with your family and friends, then, extend to your co-workers, neighbors, grocer, banker, mechanic, lawyer, dry cleaner, fellow parishioners, etc.
