Grant Training Workshop
The Grant Training Workshop will be held on October 31, 2011 from 8:30 to noon at the Coconut Point Mall in Estero.
The exact location of the meeting will be at 23101 Fashion Drive, Suite 113. As you drive in from the main entrance, please look for the pink signs/balloons to guide you to parking. We ask that you park in the general lot rather than on Fashion Drive. If in the event you are lost or delayed, please call Jamie Grofik, as she will be able to provide needed information. ATTENDANCE AT THE GRANT APPLICATION TRAINING SESSION IS A REQUIREMENT IN ORDER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION.

2011 Community Profile Draft
We suggest that you bring copies of your previous grants, and the goals and objectives in particular. We will spend time during the session to discuss goals and objectives, and will provide you with suggestion to make them stronger for your application.
As you begin to think about the content of your upcoming application, please be sure to consider the goals of the Southwest Florida KOMEN affiliate. These goals include:
1. Increasing and improving resources available to our underserved, uninsured/underinsured populations specific to the geographic zip codes identified in the Community Profile.
2. Reducing/removing barriers for screening/treatment, such as transportation, child care, and scheduling issues for our underserved, uninsured/underinsured populations specific to the geographic zip codes identified in the Community Profile.
3. Increasing efforts to educate and support underserved, uninsured/underinsured breast cancer patients and survivors about programs/services to assist them throughout the continuum of care specific to the geographic zip codes identified in the Community Profile.
4. Increasing breast health awareness, education activities, and diagnostic and treatment services with an emphasis on Komen messaging throughout the five- county region.
