The Susan G. Komen Foundation is a network of more than 75.000 volunteers working through 113 local affiliates. Since we are a volunteer driven organization, Komen volunteers are our ambassadors and the cornerstone of our organization. They help to carry the powerful message of the Foundation and its work to their communities.
There is much work to be done and there is much to be gained by being a Komen Volunteer. By being a volunteer, a person is given a marvelous opportunity to participate in important works that funds the research, education, screening and treatment that Komen is committed to provide until a cure for breast cancer is found.
It is an opportunity to be a part of a team, to associate with people with whom you have a common goal and to demonstrate a commitment to a cause. Your volunteering enables the organization to strengthen existing programs, add new programs, procure funds and resources, add specialized skills and talents and increase public awareness of the foundation.
The Komen Foundation credits its success to the many outstanding volunteers who share their energy, ideas, talents and enthusiasm. The Komen Southwest Florida Affiliate offers many volunteer opportunities each year in both leadership and supporting roles. Even if you can only volunteer once a year - WE NEED YOU!
What’s next? Once the information is received in our office; someone from our Volunteer Committee will contact you, we will send you a volunteer manual and information regarding orientation by email.
