Pretty in Pink Mustang
Ford is accelerating its efforts to help breast cancer education and research this year by doubling its contribution to Susan G. Komen the Cure. Ford will donate $500 for each 2009 version of its special "Warriors in Pink" Mustangs ordered by a dealer.
"We knew we needed to continue offering the package, and we're happy to be able to increase our support for the Cure." Connie Fontaine, Ford's Experiential Marketing Manager, said in a statement.
The Mustang V-6 Premium coupe or convertible comes in black, silver or white and has its own grille, pink striping and "Pony" badge. Inside, the mats have a pink ribbon symbol, and the leather seats and wheel have pink stitching. Last year, Ford sold 1,321 cars to dealers, donating $330,250.
The Department of Defense Breast Cancer Heroes
The Department of Defense (DoD) is dedicated to keeping America safe, but did you know that the DoD also is an important ally in the war on breast cancer? The DoD Breast Cancer Research Program has granted more than $1.9 billion for basic clinical breast cancer research since 1992.
Did you know you can be a hero in the war on breast cancer? Through the DoD's Breast Cancer Research Program’s Consumer Peer Review committee, breast cancer survivors and advocates have the ability to influence the vision of research and help select the research that could find the cures by serving as a Consumer Reviewer. If you are interested in becoming a Consumer Reviewer for the DoD Breast Cancer Research Program please contact Rebecca Birch at rbirch@komen.org. |
